San Antonio's Modern Mexican restaurant

A good friend of mine has been reiterating how enjoying it is to dine at San Antonio's Modern Mexican restaurant.  I finally took his advice and boy was I mad at my self for not going in earlier!  Let me say that the friendly interaction with the staff initially gave me a sense that this location prides itself in customer service.  The cool spacious decor in this swank eatery also brings to the very soulful latin vibe that resonates through out the building.  My favorite area has to be the kitchen with it's open space frame work.  It allows you to see the cleanliness and also the hard work put into to every meal.  I can go on talking about how San Antonio's Modern Mexican restaurant is just a great place to hang out.  Did I also mention that Thursday's Salsa night heats up the joint at 10 pm.  $1 margaritas every night as well will definitely have you feeling awesome on top of the great scene!

Now on to the meal for this post.  After talking to the bar tender and getting his suggestions, which by the way his knowledge of the menu was extensive, I came down to one choice.  The Tequila Chicken was a heavenly meal that just jumped around in my mouth with great flavors!  The blackened breast of chicken broiled and topped with large shrimp with the most exhilarating made from scratch queso cheese, baked in a picante craw fish sauce.  The blending of flavors was phenomenal with the queso and picante craw fish sauce giving a slightly spicy melted blend with the succulent shrimp and chicken rounding out an amazing dish.  The arrangement on the dish was marvelous and the aroma flying from the plate was mesmerizing!  The way the cheese melted a top of the chicken shrimp locked in flavors that carried all the way through to the last bite!  The chicken was so juicy that my initial slice squirted a flavorful stream right into my very tasty Spanish rice.  Now this meal brought me a salad as well.  The crisp lettuce and spinach leaves topped with slices of onions and bacon bits was brilliant with the dressing that accompanied the salad.  Now I always try to find low fat dressings with taste because low fat doesn't normally correspond with great taste.  Joel my bartender suggested a Jabanero Mango Vinegrette was the perfect blend of good for you and good taste.  The spicy/sweet mixture had a very distinctive taste that allowed me to dig into my veggies without hesitation!

The Tequila Chicken dinner is a must eat at San Antonio's Modern Mexican restaurant.  Couple that great meal with the dollar margarita's and I had a blast!  Throw in salsa night on Thursday's and you can obviously tell that I am a big fan.  Two thumbs up for this great dish and a roaring standing ovation for San Antonio's Modern Mexican restaurant.

Check out the pics of this great meal below and a pic of the open kitchen format.  Stop by San Antonio's Modern Mexican restaurant located in South Park Mall next to Dick's Sporting Goods.  You will not be disappointed!
